Robert Bruce describes this method in his book Journeys Out of the Body. One of the simplest methods of achieving an OBE, what is first required (as is the case with all techniques) is for a state of complete relaxation (sometimes called "mind awake, body asleep.")
After managing to completely relax, people may experience vibrations across and/or throughout their body (not all people experience them, however.) For those that do experience vibrations, feeling them is a good sign, as it means that you are closer to projection. Although the vibrations may feel uncomfortable and disturbing, it is important not to be afraid and to do your best to acclimatise yourself and to control the vibrations as best you can - this is usually a good time to attempt to separate by using whatever technique/s suit you.
The Disassociation Technique, outlined here, simply involves lying on your bed (or wherever you are attempting to project from) and focusing on floating up out of your body. Think it. Imagine it. Feel it. Concentrate on how pleasant the experience will be, of separating from your body, as though releasing yourself from a great weight. Continual possession of these thoughts should result in your actual separation from your body.
As with all techniques, it is unlikely that you will project the first time you attempt it. The amount of time/practice one needs in order to project depends entirely upon the individual. One person may project in a few weeks while another person may practice for several years before managing to project.
